As a family-owned business, we have been blessed with the ability to create our own guidelines, our own menus, and our own team, which has become a direct extension of our family.
We owe our success to our employees. Creating a culture where we are able to promote from within, share our ideas and allow our staff to share theirs has been integral to creating an experience that is unique to each of our guests.
However, none of this would be possible without our guests. We get so much joy from being able to host special events, dinners or share a drink with our locals at the bar. You might not always see our faces here because our day-to-day roles change. One day we might be working in the kitchen, or behind the bar, or outside trying to find new ways to recreate our space.
This allows us to work directly alongside our staff and see things from their vantage point; which is integral in moving forward and changing our vision to create the best possible experience for our guests.
Being a family-operated business does not come without its trials and tribulations, but we would not have it any other way. Most of the time, even after fourteen hours in the restaurant, you can find us all hanging out together, recapping our day and planning the next.
It has been an amazing three years! The things that we have learned about the business and ourselves has been life-changing.
Next time you’re at The Mill, please say “hi”! We love to meet new people and find connections with other Hershey natives! At the end of the day, we are just people, too, and we want to hear about your lives, your families, and your honest feedback about how we can make this a place where you feel like part of our family, too.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making three years of The Mill in Hershey a success!
